Alongside my studies at UWE Bristol I also filmed a short interview of one of the main players for the UWE Bullets as part of producing content for the team's social media.

UWE Bullets American Football

Soil, Not Dirt

A commercial short film produced for the UWE Filmmaking course to fulfil a brief from the Soil Association. As part of a small group my role entailed designing, creating and operating the soil puppets. As it was created during a national lockdown this was filmed entirely in my own home where I also undertook the role of set dressing, camera operating and all on-set duties.

The Bums Rush

My first-year project where I worked as the director and writer. A comedy mockumentary that follows the story of a young enforcement officer on his first rent collection job. All the appreciation to the wonderful crew and actors who made this one of my favourite projects to work on and re-watch.

The Lego Heist Movie

Over 3000 frames of stop-motion animation, this was an individual project I worked on during my time at Sixth-Form, with the help of one voice actor and one sound recordist. A comedic short where we Join Johnson O'Neil, the charming bank manager as he embarks on the thrilling heist.

Upcoming Project - The Boy and The Balloon

My upcoming third-year UWE Filmmaking graduate project which I am producing. A really cool concept of a despondent supermarket employee and his encounters with an annoying boy with a balloon. Primarily visual based with a focus on precision and high production value.

Fights Camera Action! Board game

An awesome second year UWE Filmmaking project where I had the opportunity to bring my passion for board games together with filmmaking in a game I designed and created all the components for. The game is based around a comedic exaggeration of the conflicts the different departments of filmmaking can get into with the intention of teaching players about the importance of working as a team.

ABOUT SCOTT NEWMAN

I’m a creative individual interested in all things film, writing and design. My journey into film began with an interest in Drama and Theatre, where as a child supporting actor I was lucky enough to work on some blockbuster films, including Robin Hood (2010), Hugo (2011) and World War Z (2013). The experiences on these films have contributed to my love of the creative arts.

This has led to me studying Filmmaking at a graduate level in Bristol where I have worked on numerous student films and projects. Now, I look to take my skills to a professional level with creative and challenging jobs.
